With RoHS guidelines and the REACH declaration, all parties must communicate clearly about all aspects to make everyone aware of the relevant information.

REACH declaration

REACH refers to all the chemicals used to make a product - throughout the supply chain. Bossard knows its responsibilities concerning the REACH regulation as a primary importer and supplier of fasteners and tools.

Bossard guarantees it will comply with these responsibilities wherever the regulation applies to its products. Consult the REACH declaration of the Bossard Group here, and the REACH of Bossard Netherlands here.

RoHS guidelines

The following guidelines also apply:

  • 2011/65/EU concerning the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS Directive)

  • 2002/96/EC disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE Directive)
Annex 1B of directive 2002/96/EC provides a complete list of products covered by directive 2011/65/EU

All guidelines and publications can be found and downloaded at EUR-Lex Europe EUR-Lex Europa
Consult our RoHS declaration here.

The requirements of the above guidelines relate in particular to the following products:

  • Zinc-plated and passivated fasteners

  • Non-electrolytically applied zinc layer (zinc lamellae, Dacromet ®)

  • Synthetic materials and other coatings

  • Cu / Zn alloys (such as brass)

  • Lead alloys

Products we supply according to the RoHS and WEEE requirements:

Products made of:

  • Steel

  • Stainless steel

  • Non-ferrous metals

Dodd-Frank Wall Street

Since 2012, the Code of Conduct has been issued by the Responsible Business Association, contradicting the use of ‘Conflict Minerals’ that are mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It concerns specifically Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten and Gold, also known as the ‘3TG’ substances. This directive is also known as the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Regulation. We comply with these regulations (although almost no fasteners in our range contain these substances) to ensure we do not support conflict in this region.
